Tourism Minister receives General Manager of Hawar Resort by Mantis
Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), received Dennis de Groot, General Manager of Hawar Resort by Mantis. The meeting was attended by Ilhan Anil, director of sales and marketing of the resort.
Minister Al Sairafi highlighted the role of major tourism projects in supporting the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and enhancing sustainable tourism experiences.
She noted that Hawar Resort is among the tourism projects contributing to strengthening Bahrain’s position as an island tourism destination within the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026. She noted that waterfront destinations and marine activities form a central part of the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026 due to their role in diversifying tourism offerings and enhancing Bahrain’s appeal as a tourism destination.
The meeting reviewed a number of topics related to the development of the tourism sector, including efforts to strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain’s tourism profile, opportunities for cooperation in ecotourism and luxury hospitality, and means to enhance promotional efforts for Hawar Island as a destination connected to Bahrain’s tourism attractions and landmarks.
